Hi, I am Evanna and I grew up in the beautiful Co Cork, Ireland.
Although many people may not be aware of it, Cork is a county renowned for some of the best quality produce Ireland has to offer. From beautiful local farms and farmers markets, small scale artisan producers and wonderful restaurants and food stores, it is difficult not to find inspiration in the food in Ireland.
In January 2016, I attended the world famous Ballymaloe Cookery School, a culinary school based on a 30 Acre farm in the beautiful Irish countryside. Here I was lucky enough to study with some of the worlds best chefs: Darina Allen, Rory O’Connell and Rachel Allen; wonderful teachers and train alongside some incredibly talented cooks.
Soon after graduating, my husband and I upped sticks and moved to Boston, Massachusetts. Boston is a beautiful city filled with exciting food and incredible produce, almost as good as back home in Cork! Seafood here is some of the best in the world and New England is home to some incredible farmers and artisan food producers. However, I got to thinking…. with such a rich Irish history in the region, why has the food enjoyed in modern Ireland not migrated over the Atlantic? Sure the classics are great and delicous, but these days, Ireland has so much to offer.
Thats where Sásta was born. I am passionate about using the best ingredients to bring all of the wonderful food we eat in Ireland to New England, to showcase how Irish food is evolving. From new favorites to the old classics that you know and love. This is food from modern Ireland, at its best. Give some of our products a try, I am sure you will agree!
